Free Electric Scooty Scheme for Women in Sindh: Who’s Eligible?
The Sindh government has taken a bold step to support women’s independence and mobility with its new Free Electric Scooty Scheme. Launched through the Transport and Mass Transit Department, the program aims to empower female students and working women across the province by providing them with free electric pink scooties. This initiative not only promotes ease of travel but also contributes to a greener and safer environment.
Who Can Apply?
To make sure the scooties go to deserving candidates, the government has outlined a clear set of eligibility rules. Here’s what you need to know:
-
Permanent Residency: Only women who are permanent residents of Sindh can apply.
-
Student or Working Woman: Applicants must be enrolled in a recognized institution or employed.
-
Driving License: A valid motorcycle or car driving license is a must.
-
Commitment Clause: Applicants must agree not to sell or lease the scooty for at least seven years.
-
Road Test: Selected candidates will undergo a road safety and skill test to ensure they’re ready to ride safely.
Free Training for Riders
To make sure all recipients are confident and skilled, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) will offer free training programs. These sessions will be held throughout the province and will cover everything from basic riding skills to essential road safety practices. It’s a smart move to ensure safety on the roads while building confidence among new riders.
Fair and Transparent Distribution
The distribution process is set to be completely transparent. Scooties will be given out through a balloting system, which will be monitored by both print and electronic media. A special committee including officials from the Excise, Transport, Finance, and Media departments will oversee the draw to make sure everything runs smoothly and fairly.
